Sew Crafty – Ombre cushions

I’ve been making as part of the Sew Crafty Design Team again this month!

Here’s what I made:

I used 1 meter of this gorgeous pink Ombre fabric and matched one of the cushions with this seriously fab bias binding

Making these cushions are super quick and easy!

Cut a 42cm x full width of fabric piece (you will then get two cushions from a meter) and hem each of the short ends by folding over by 1cm twice.

Right sides together fold the hemmed edges over, so that they overlap in the middle and the square you are left with is approx 40 x 42 cm. Sew up the two raw ends using a 1 cm seam allowance. Turn right way round.

You can leave it there, or you can:

Sew a top stitch approx 1 cm from the edge all the way around the cushion, or you could,

add bias trim by wrapping the bias binding around the edge of the cushion and sewing all the way around. Take it slowly and make sure you catch the bias binding on the other side!
